Liz Russell, our fully qualified and highly experienced professional first aid instructor-assessor, is affiliated to ProTrainings. The first aid qualifications we award are nationally recognised. Our VTQ training courses (Vocational Technical Qualifications Levels 2 and 3) include First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid, Community First Aid and Paediatric First Aid.
We are currently finalising our schedule of courses for 2024.
If you are interested in attending one of our locally held courses, or in commissioning first aid training for your team to be held either at your own premises or an independent East Suffolk or North Essex venue, please do give us a call.
Our small, friendly, yet professional group courses range from 6-18 hours of training in a classroom environment. Some may include online modules.

Affiliated to ProTrainings first aid instructors and assessors network, Liz Russell is passionate about the difference a proper knowledge of first aid can make – and how professionally delivered first aid training should be flexible, affordable and above all engaging and fun.
Liz is a familiar friendly face around Felixstowe and Ipswich in Suffolk. Her CV includes years of local voluntary and professional service for both St John Ambulance and a respected Felixstowe home care service which she founded in 1995.
Through her roles - first aider and first responder to first aid trainer and examiner - she has witnessed close up, the critical importance of understanding and delivering effective First Aid, particularly in life-threatening situations.
Having first aid cover on site is a legal and moral obligation for most organisations. Whether your Felixstowe business or Ipswich organisation is looking to comply with health and safety regulations or encourage best practice, high quality training from First Aid Suffolk is close at hand – and we can even deliver on site in the work place.
From heritage visitor attraction teams to shopkeepers, caterers or shipping agency personnel supporting the Port of Felixstowe, we can help you put the training place you need for compliance and real peace of mind – and help you keep on top of it going forward too.
As an example, our popular Emergency First Aid at Work course offers 6 hours of in-person training (excluding breaks) with weekly refresher videos, a downloadable first aid manual and certificate from ProTrainings.
All care workers and care givers – whether supporting the less mobile or elderly, infants or children, vulnerable youngsters or people with disabilities – need to be prepared for anything and act mindfully to protect themselves as well those in their care.
With decades of experience in the front line of home care work in the Felixstowe and Ipswich area, First Aid Suffolk expert trainer, Liz Russell, really appreciates the demands and needs of both staff members and management in the care sector. She is the ideal instructor for EFAW courses for care workers as part of induction training and ongoing care worker development programmes.
