Felixstowe town council team aces first aid training
A handful of staff from Felixstowe Town Council attended one of our pre-programmed, emergency first aid training courses. And as luck would have it for them, the venue just happened to be a town council workplace too!
Felixstowe Town Hall is an ideal location for First Aid Suffolk to host its variety of first aid courses for individuals. If we are approached to undertake group first aid courses, but there are to be fewer than six participants, we often suggest our pre-programmed courses to offer a more cost-effective option.
A first class show of first aid team work
Felixstowe Town Hall has exceptional amenities (and who can resist the sea views!), but the friendliness and the high level of helpfulness on offer from the Town Council staff at the venue makes a real difference to our experience and to that of our course participants too.
Undertaking their learning experience on ‘home turf’ so to speak, the Town Council staff attending the course were on show /duty throughout the sessions, but not perhaps in their regular capacities.
As representatives of the Council, it wasn’t just the first aid trainer-assessor who was watching them. Teaming up effectively with course participants from a range of different backgrounds, each one of them proudly flew the town council flag… some more than others, with their logo-ed shirts!

Hailing from various departments across Felixstowe Town Council, from office staff to caretaking and grounds management, each Town Council staff member acknowledged how they face a different array of daily hazards unique to their role. It really highlighted the importance of being prepared for emergencies across all aspects of the council’s public-facing and internal work.

Equipped with new-found knowledge and expertise, the Town Council team members returned to their work roles ready to handle emergencies effectively and competently, following their 6 hours of instruction, continuous assessment and final multiple choice first aid test.

Felixstowe Town Council can take pride in their commitment to staff development and safety, fostering a culture of preparedness and care in the workplace. Their staff attendance at the course demonstrated the Council’s commitment to the safety of its staff and the resort town’s visitors.
It was generally agreed by all present the friendly, engaged participants at the Town Hall that day were a credit to themselves and their employers. They aced it.
